I will say the Cromwell's.

I'm not sure of the spelling but I believe it was the Jode family.

Ya know, "Mom", may be right. I will go with the Jode family....or a reasonable facsimile.

Can't believe you asked this question...I am reading one of his other great novels, East of Eden for my book club group. I did my honors independent study on Steinbeck in college and it is the Joad family, not Jode.

The Ontano's.... I got nothing.

The Joad's, are they related to the Judds? Does not looks like Winona went through the tough times the Joad's did...

I've never read it, tried to watch the movie ... but I know the main character is Tom Joad, right?

I think Cello's on to something ... there should be a show where overweight celebrities are made to live like migrant workers in the 1930's and see if the pounds don't melt away.
