The Liberty WNBA team. In those days they were allowed to slam dunk, but the hoop was only 4 ft. high.
Rumor has it that one of Babe Ruth's mistresses played for the Maryland Liberty, which was an awkward name for a Maryland team at the time. This made the owner recondier and move to New York in the 90s.
