ANSWER: Books

Napoleonic Wars

War and Peace has a large cast of characters, the majority of whom are introduced in the first book. Some are actual historical figures, such as Napoleon and Alexander I. While the scope of the novel is vast, it is centered around five aristocratic families. The plot and the interactions of the characters take place in the era surrounding the 1812 French invasion of Russia during the Napoleonic wars.

ANSWER: Activists

Grapes

During the 1980s, Chavez led a boycott to protest the use of toxic pesticides on grapes. Bumper stickers reading "NO GRAPES" and "UVAS NO" were widespread. He again fasted to draw public attention. UFW organizers believed that a reduction in produce sales by 15% was sufficient to wipe out the profit margin of the boycotted product.

QUESTION: Activists

In the 80's, Cesar Chavez conducted a fast to encourage an American boycott of what fruit?

ANSWER: Food

Cheese, Chutney, and Bread

A ploughman's lunch is an English cold meal which consists of cheese, chutney, and bread. Additional items such as boiled eggs, ham, and pickled onions may be added. As its name suggests, it is more commonly consumed as a midday snack.

Beer, bread, and cheese have been paired in the English diet since antiquity. However, the specific term "ploughman's lunch" is believed to date no further back than the 1950s, when the Cheese Bureau began promoting the meal in pubs as a way to increase the sales of cheese, which had recently ceased to be rationed. Its popularity increased as the Milk Marketing Board promoted the meal nationally throughout the 1960s.
