Yup, the bannister. Every Christmas for 22 years,five periods a day I watched It's a Wonderful Life.
The bathroom, It's a wonderful life was not a regular life....

I think its the knob on the bannister... they made a joke of it in the Christmas Vacation movie where he used a chainsaw to cut it off. Ah, comedic homage.
