Venice Marco Polo Airport is an airport located on the Italian mainland 4.3 NM (8.0 km; 4.9 mi) north of Venice, Italy, in Tessera, a frazione of the comune of Venice nearest to Mestre. The airport was named after the Venetian traveller Marco Polo, who is considered the European rediscoverer of China.
With 6,868,968 passengers having passed through the airport in 2010, it is the fifth Italian airport in terms of air traffic.
