Excluding jokers, what is the total value of a deck of cards?

Matt prides himself on being some sort of trivia whiz, so this blog is to see how well he can do with random trivia questions, and how many of you out there can beat him at his own game. There are 52 cards in a deck...I don't know more beyond that.
That's a toughy 220 for all of the numbered cards, then if you count the Jack, Queen, King and Ace as one, you have 236? Just my guess.
this question confuses me... there are 52 in a deck. but if you add up all the cards and count the jacks/kings/queens as 10 and the ace as 1 that's 340. BUT sometimes the ace is 11 also... that's 380. This question is tooooo open-ended.
